ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Calvin Dunn
Calvin Dunn is a writer, mental health advocate, and survivor of bipolar disorder. Born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he grew up with big dreams and a bright future. He excelled in school and earned a scholarship to college, but everything changed when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 20 years old.
For years, Calvin faced extreme mood swings, hospital stays, arrests, and even homelessness. He struggled with feelings of isolation, misunderstanding, and hopelessness. But through it all, he never gave up. With treatment, self-discovery, and inner strength, he fought his way back to stability. Today, he is an advocate for mental health awareness, using his experiences to educate and inspire others.
Calvin believes that understanding mental illness is the key to breaking the stigma. He writes and speaks openly about his past so that others don’t have to suffer in silence. His memoir, Losing My Mind, is his way of sharing the lessons he learned, showing that recovery is possible, and proving that no matter how hard life gets, there is always hope.
Now living a stable and fulfilling life, Calvin continues to spread his message: you are not alone, and you can overcome anything.
